Prayagraj is famous for the Kumbh Mela. Kumbh Mela marks its identity as the largest religious fair in the world.

Ocean was churned in the search of Amrit (a drink of immortality) between Devas and Asuras. The Devas won the quest for Amrit and were taking to put it into a pot or Kumbh, but a few drops fell-off on four different places- Prayagraj, Ujjain, Nasik and Haridwar. At these places kumbh mela is organised once in every four years.

Millions of devotees and pilgrims come to attend Kumbh Mela every time; not only from India but also from other countries.

It offers ‘Shaahi Snaan’ to the devotees to enjoy the supreme most bath for the Lord Shiva worshipers that is taken into the river to get spiritual power & gain ultimate freedom from life and death.

In Jan 2019, Kumbh Mela has been organised under the monitoring of Chief Minister of UP Shri Yogi Adityanath himself. He knew very well about the importance of Kumbh Mela so even he increased the Kumbh Mela budget to 4200 crores while the previous budget was only 200 crore.

Even The Prime Minister of India Shri Narender Modi came here once in Kumbh Mela to inspect the preparations. HRD Minister Smriti Irani has visited here to take blessings of spiritual Gurus. Representers of more than 70 countries came to feel the essence of Kumbh Mela.

2. Anand Bhawan

Anand Bhawan which is the ancestral place to the First Prime Minister of India “Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru”. It’s a double storey building.

After defeated Ravan, Hanuman Ji took permission from Maa Sita to take rest so he took rest in Prayagraj in lying position.

This is located near to Triveni Sangam Bandh and Allahabad Fort.
